What Warren Felony Records Show
A felony case file in Warren contains the complaint or information, all motions and court filings, hearing records, any plea deal, the verdict, and the sentencing order. These documents form the official record of everything that happened in the case. The record follows the case from the initial arraignment at the 37th District Court through trial and sentencing at the Macomb County Circuit Court.
Public records typically include the defendant's name and date of birth, the charges with the specific Michigan statute, the case number, the date each event occurred, the assigned judge, and the final outcome including the sentence. Restitution orders and probation terms appear in the file. Some documents may be sealed. Victim names and personal data are usually redacted before copies go out. Juvenile records are closed to the public under Michigan law and require a court order.

Expungement of Warren Felony Records
Michigan's Clean Slate law gives Warren residents with felony convictions a path to clearing their record. Under MCL 780.621, you can petition the Macomb County Circuit Court to set aside a felony conviction after the required waiting period following the end of your sentence. The length of the wait depends on the type of offense and your overall conviction history.
The 2021 amendments under MCL 780.621g created automatic expungement for some lower-level felonies. After enough time passes without a new conviction, eligible cases may clear automatically without any court filing. Serious violent felonies, crimes against minors, and certain other offenses are not eligible for either automatic or petition expungement. The Drug Court program at the 37th District Court can also result in dismissal and expungement for qualifying drug offenses. Michigan Legal Help has free guides for the expungement petition process.
